Tim Horton's and the Tiger-Cats (UPDATED)

When you walk into your local Hamilton-area Tim Horton's (yes, I still use the apostrophe, dammit!) you'll find something new behind the counter:

This, my friends, is the Tiger-Cat Supreme. It's the new Tiger-Cat doughnut. What screams out Hamilton more than Tim Horton's doughnuts? It's about time two of Hamilton's greatest and most recognizable institutions came together in a cross promotion.

The question is, however, is the doughnut any good? As someone who has consumed more than his fair share of doughnuts over 28 years I think I am qualified to give an opinion on the taste of the newest Tim Horton's treat. The doughnut is so-so. It has a delicious cream centre, but the area where the logo is located has an odd taste that detracts from the overall quality of the doughnut. Total score: 7.2/10

Having said that, I still plan on eating one every time I go to Tim Horton's, if only to show my support for the team. Maybe the two will come together and we'll be able to get Tim Horton's products in the new stadium!

Tim Horton's and the Tiger-Cats. Not since peanut butter met jam have two different products made more sense together.

UPDATE: A couple of things. One, Tim Horton's also introduced a Tim Card emblazoned with the Tiger-Cat logo. Here's what it looks like:

Yes, I did pick one up. I forgot to add this in when I posted earlier.

Two, the Spectator has a story about the new cross promotion as well.

Maybe it was overdone. Ask to eat 'em raw. ;-)

  2. Never before have the Ti-Cats been this delicious! I'll try one soon!

EDIT: I am at work and it's 2:40 and your post inspired me to go and get one so I counted my change and was about to head out the door than realized I work in Toronto! Steve Gillon, ladies and gentlemen!

  3. That doughnut looks kind of big or is it just the image makes it look like a sub? Cool promo none the less. I bought the Tim's card for my dad for father's day.

lol to Steve's comment above. "Yah I am going to get a Ti-Cats doughnut" ... dope! Wrong city. :)

The image of you gathering up all your change, and the dissapointment on your face when you realized, like a kid, that you couldn't get one after all your efforts.

Great blog once again Josh. Nothing says a Tiger-Cats blog like 'Blogskee Wee Wee'. Brilliant!

    Cheers,
    Lawrence

  4. Lawrence, they're eclair-sized. They cost a bit more too, but I don't know how much more.
