Thigpen Named Special Teams Player of the Week

Hamilton Tiger-Cat Kick Returner Marcus Thigpen has been named the Special Teams Player of the Week for Week 1.

This is not surprising in the least. Thigpen had two returns for TDs. He returned the opening kickoff for a TD to start that game and returned a missed field goal for a TD in the fourth quarter.

In a game that was mostly atrocious, Thigpen was a bright spot. Special Teams have not been an area where the Cats have flourished, so here's hoping that the team has found "their guy" in Thigpen.

Congratulations to Thigpen, and hopefully this will be the first of many awards for him.
