Great job guys! I liked the 45 minute timeframe as well...seemed tighter. Now I know that will fluctuate depending on how much there is to talk about but though worth mentioning.
ReplyDeleteThat is good to hear. We were thinking an hour per episode, but I'm starting to think 45 minutes is just the right amount of time. You're correct in that content will dictate time, but keeping it at a tight 45 should be doable, especially during the season. Thanks for the input, as always.
DeleteAnother good podcast. There were 2 really good questions from one of the listeners! Haha
ReplyDeleteI know free agency is coming up but here are some questions and topics to discuss:
Rules changes. Sounds like some might be in the pipeline. Should anything be changed? I hate when they "Americanize" rules (ie when for a year there was no option of scrimmaging at the 35 after a fg)
Your views on PI replays. I found they slowed the game down but my idea should be that you can challenge anything you want. You get 2 per game and if you are wrong you lose a time out.
Are there any rules you would change? I personally like the game the way it is and wouldn't change anything because that's what makes the CFL different and that's why the game is better than the NFL/NCAA.
Any insight on who we can draft?
What position should we draft?
Should the Cats cut or trade Fantuz? It came out this week that he makes $300+, which is a lot and ate up some cap room and didn't allow us to give out signing bonuses. With the cap going up it's easier to keep him. I just wish he could stay healthy for a whole year.
I really hope Ellingson and Grant resign but if not, what are our options? We need guys with CFL experience.
Will Gable and Madu be the RB combo? I prefer Grigsby and Madu. Gable still has issues picking up the block and running routes and catching out of the backfield. I really liked Madu when he filled in and Geigsby looked good as well. Gable has issues staying healthy as well.
What do the Cats do with Hickman? Didn't really impress me at the end of last year and will command top dollar.
Can we trade a DT for an OL? With multiple options on the DL it could be spun into an OL.
What is the weakest part of the team? I saw OL.
What can the Cats do to not start 1-4 and get behind the 8 ball?
Will Crompton be effective this year? Or was last season a fluke?
Will the Argos take another step back? Since their GC win in 2012, they seem to regress every year since.
Did SSK make a mistake with their coaching staff? If Durrant was healthy they probably would've won the west. I really don't get the sweeping changes.
Ooh, rule change questions! I like those. We'll tackle those on the next podcasts! Thanks! And we'll probably get to your Qs on the Ti-Cats as well!
DeleteProbably once the season starts, an hour won't be enough but the first 2 have been good.
ReplyDeleteI would like to hear your thoughts on the stadium.
1. Like/dislikes
2. Comparison to Ivor Wynne
3. When will be the Cats first home game and will the preseason game be there?
We had the question about the new stadium, but since Mike resides in PEI, he has yet to venture to the new stadium. But this isn't the first time I have been asked this question, I will write a post about it and answer all Tim Horton's Field-related questions there.
DeleteAnd thanks for the listen and feedback. Always appreciated.
